3 Types of Teachers

High school was more laid back than college, and so were most of the teachers. I had this one teacher that always favored the athletes, and luckily, I was a good one. She would extend due dates for me when she knew I had late games, and would always help me out if I was doing poorly in her class, but that did not mean that she did not like her other students, because she liked us all. She just strongly favored athletes, because all her kids were athletes in high school. She was very sweet, and very smart and was always willing to help me out. I had another kind of teacher that did not give me an easy way out. She would help me to pass, but would try to make me more responsible and make me finish work on time and by myself. The third kind of teacher I had was the hard one. She did not give me anything extra, and she treated all her students the same. We were all equals in her class and the same due dates and the same work. She was cold hearted and was just their to do her job and get ...

3 Types of Friends

I choose to keep my circle of friends small, but I do have at least friends, and they are all different. I have on friend who will always be my first best friend. She is the type of friend that I can talk to constantly, and then not talk to for a couple of days, or even weeks and we would still pick up right where we left off. She would always be there for me when I need her most. I have another friend that I see at college every day, but she is boy crazy. She always wants to be around boys and put them first because she is desperate for attention from them. The third type of friend I have is the “mom” friend. She is always checking up on us and taking care of us when we get ourselves into sticky situations. These describe my entire friend circle perfectly, but I would not trade them for any other friends in the world.

First and Third Papers

This paper was definitely more difficult than the first one. The paper I wrote first was straight from the heart. and just about something I believed in. It did not have to have any citations, and was just a straight opinion, and my thoughts and ideas on something I believed. The third paper was more difficult. I had to research topic, and string together a bunch of thoughts before I even started the paper, and before I even put a thesis together. The third paper I had to find a general topic, and then break that topic down into even smaller groups, and it was not particularly easy. The first paper was just about something I believed in. The third paper was researched topics with citations, and a works cited page. I did not struggle with the third paper, but it was harder. I had to put more thought into the writing process during the formation of the third paper. They both flowed smoothly after some thinking, and getting started.

First Paper V.S the Second Paper

The first paper was easiest to write because it was all about personally opinion, and it did not specifically matter what others think. The second paper was taking both sides into the thought process, and then proceeding with the paper. Choosing my own topics make the papers easy as well. The second paper I added some citations, and that made the second paper a little more difficult. They were both rather easy papers, but the second had to have more added to it including a works cited page for the in text citations. I actually made the same grade on both papers, and they were good grades because I did not find them either difficult, and I love writing. The second paper, I chose a different method for my thesis, and put it on the end of my introduction paragraph, whereas my first paper it was the very first sentence. Both papers started with their ups and downs, but I figured them both out in the end.

When to Cite

Knowing when to cite sources in your essay can be tricky. You do not want to put in quote that does not flow with your evidence and commentary. Quotes are used to back up your ideas, and theories. Quotes are your evidence in your paper. The quotes need to always match up with your thesis, as well as support your thesis statement. Quotes from other people are very useful in essays to help your thesis be understood better, and to get your point across, and prove that others agree with you or can back up what your point is. Citing information makes the paper easier to understand.

MLA

I have always known how to write a works cited page in MLA format, but the thesis statements get tricky. Different teachers want different types of thesis statements, and I have never done one like you like them before. I have always done thesis statements with three parts, you only like one part. It will be a writing adjustment I will have to make, but I love writing so I am very familiar with everything that is MLA. In high school most kids would even pay to m to do their works cited pages for them, but I did not mind the extra work because writing is a passion of mine.

Balancing The Life of a College Student

Balancing school with any other outside task is often difficult, and stressful for anyone. I play softball for Chattahoochee Valley, and it is difficult to juggle school work, on top of workouts and practice. I start my morning with 6 a.m. workouts, and then head straight to my first class. I have four day classes that run back to back until 2:15. I have thirty minutes to eat a snack and change into my practice clothes. Practice begins at 2:45 and normally runs until 5:30 because people have night classes.  I shower and head to class. My class gets out at 8:45 so I eat dinner and shower. After all of this is my only study time, but after a day like that I am easily tired. Balancing all of that is hard, and it is the same for students with jobs and balancing their job with school. It is not easy, but it can be done with hard work and dedication for a better future and higher level of education.
